HAPPY ONE YEAR ON YOUTUBE TO ME!

Blog Single

About a year ago, I decided to take the leap of faith and jump way outside my comfort zone into the unknown to do what I believed God was calling me to do. Throughout the year, there have been many times I wanted to quit and walk away but each time God knew exactly how to get me back on track. He knew how to strategically place people and things on my path at the right time and place to encourage and empower me to keep going.

The road definitely hasn't been easy, there has been tears, LOTS of tears, but I can say that I have grown and have learnt A Lot on the journey...how to start a YouTube channel, how to shoot a video, how to edit a video, what editing software to use, what microphones are good with what camera, what camera to buy, when to record, how to record, how to upload, how to take nice pictures, what are thumbnails, how to create thumbnails, lighting box? What's that? What is a ring light? Oh I bought the wrong one? You said it cost how much? Do I really need it? Do I even need a camera? A good one at that? And the list goes on and on. And honestly I continue to learn something new every day.

I can't even tell you how many videos I had to watch to prepare and continue to watch to improve. I can't tell you how many digital marketing/social media/content creation videos I have had to watch. I can't tell you how many hours I spend on editing a short 10 minute video that you see me post.

But one thing I can tell you is that I do it all because of HIM! He called me, anointed me for the work, and then sent me. I definitely didn't send myself. And that is why I continue to be faithful in this little that He has committed and trusted into my hands because like the Bible says, he who is faithful with a little will be faithful with a lot. If He can trust me to steward a little faithfully, He can trust me to faithfully steward a lot more. I know He sees my faithfulness, hard work, and dedication but most importantly my obedience. And I know He is a Rewarder. So, I will continue to be faithful, diligent, and consistent with the work He has entrusted in my hands.

"But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." - Hebrews 11:6

But most importantly, I will continue to dwell in the secret place because it's from the overflow that He pours on me that I pour on others. I will continue to seek Him more and more before anything else. Without Him, I am nothing. Without Him, the work is useless. And that is why I have decided to shift my focus COMPLETELY to Him rather than to the assignment.

So yes, I will celebrate every win no matter how small, every growth no matter how slow, and every victory.

To God be all the glory!

There's so much more I could say but I'll stop here for now.

So in honor of my one year anniversary on YouTube, here's my first video ever. Watch, be blessed and LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE!
